The song was a call to arms written during a down-and-out period drenched in sunbleached drug use in the deserts of Arizona circa 2011. The track, recorded by Jalipaz Nelson in Mesa, AZ, was my howl to the artistic side of me to crawl out from jagged edges and find solace again in creativity. For a few short hours, I was able to make one shimmer in a memory blackhole. As per an audiomantic practice, I will meditate to this song when itches get extra itchy and resolve to the beauty and wonder of how far I’ve come.
